Islam is a religion teaching that there is only one God and that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the messenger of God. It is the world’s second-largest religion with over 1.8 billion followers, most commonly known as Muslims.

Muslims are from diverse backgrounds

Muslims may be Turks, Bosnians, Arabs, Europeans, Persians, Indians, Pakistanis, Malays, Indonesians, Africans, Americans, Chinese or other nationalities.

Muslims all over the world try to learn Arabic so that they may be able to read the Qur’an and understand its meaning from the original text.

There are more than one billion Muslims in the world. Arab Muslims constitute only about twenty percent of the Muslim population of the world.

Muslims worship God whose name is Allah, the One and the Only God.

Allah is the name of the One and Only God. Allah has ninety-nine beautiful names, such as: The Merciful, The Gracious, The Creator, The All-Knowing, The All Wise, The Beneficent, The Lord of the Universe, The First and others.

God is the Creator of all human beings. He is the God for Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus and others. They believe in His existence, worship Him, put their trust in Him and they seek His help and His guidance.
